Christmas is nearly here, can you believe it? Where has this month gone, I feel like I’ve been singing Christmas carols few weeks and yet I still can’t believe it is here… I’m actually rather behind on my shopping this year, really haven’t had time to put much thought into it…and since it’s the last weekend before Christmas, I thought a few of you might be in the same boat! I know that venturing out in this horrid weather to shop in Christmas markets and beautiful boutiques might not be preferable so why not order something from your cosy computer chair at home. And so, with that in mind, I thought it would be the ideal chance to give you some London-inspired Christmas present ideas that could sort you out before it’s too late!

1. BOAT RIDE DOWN THE THAMES

Why not take your loved one and experience this wonderful way of seeing our city? There are so many sights to see down the Thames and you can have an afternoon tea, a lavish three course meal or simply a cruise down the river!

//

2. LONDON AFTERNOON TEA

What better way to treat whoever you’re gifting than an afternoon of sumptuous cakes, bubbly and the fluffiest sandwiches you’ve ever tasted! My favourite teas would be: The Dorchester, Brasserie of Light, Landmark Hotel, Soho Hotels, BB Afternoon tea.

3. A LONDON PHOTO PRINT

If you would give your loved one the gift of travel, then one of my travel photo prints is just the answer. For those of you who don’t know, I run an online print shop (www.victorias-stories.com) selling photos I photographed on my travels over the years. From the pastel streets London to colourful towns in Italy, there are prints from some of my favourite destinations waiting to be hung up in your front room! (GET 25% OFF AT CHECKOUT WITH THE CODE: LOVEXMAS25)

4. LONDON WALKING TOUR

Whether you might be visiting the city, or are a Londoner who wants to play tourist for the day, a walking tour is a great way to explore a new corner you might not have otherwise known about before! There is a Harry Potter walk, a Shoreditch street art tour, a Jack the Ripper walk, a historic pub tour, and so many more!

5. IMMERSIVE LONDON THEATRE SHOW

When it comes to the theatre, immersive is the way forward these days. I have been to a few immersive theatre shows myself and personally adore Secret Cinema, Gingerliner (foodie immersive theatre show) and a murder mystery! So many shows going on around the city in some of the most incredible locations!

6. A LONDON HAIR SALON AFTERNOON

Book your loved one a blow-dry at Salon 64. More than just a salon, Salon64 is the coolest salon to hit the streets of Soho. You can go there for a cut, colour, blowdry or instead for a glass of bubbly, the most delicious coffee or to simply use one of their booths to touch up your makeup! If, instead, you know they might prefer a girlie blow-dry styling experience you could also opt for Duck & Dry, with the most instagrammable flower display! Lastly, if you would rather treat your special someone to nails than hair, book in for a girlie afternoon at London Grace. Dotted all over London, these nail bars do incredible cocktails, great coffee and the best nail art around!

7. A LONDON FOODIE EXPERIENCE

From a London supper club to a cookery class, there is something to tickle everyone’s taste palette! You can do a pizza-making class at Bunga Bunga, a cookery class at Atelier des Chefs, a gin tasting evening, or even a sushi-making class! If you’d like to experience some of London’s underground chefs and have a chance to meet new people, then try out one of London’s supper clubs!

8. A LONDON WINE BAR EVENING

I recently discovered Renegade, a London urban-brewery, where grapes are purchased from vineyards outside the city but brought to the brewery to be made into wine! You can experience the whole wine-making process right here in this brewery located in Bethnal Green and if your loved one is a wine lover, a visit to this place, or even a bottle from Renegade could be the ideal Christmas gift. I love deep, rich reds and their 2017 Pinot Noir was delicious when I tasted it at an event recently!

9. AN INDULGENT LONDON CANDLE

Roja make some of the most luxurious and indulgent candles around, and they’ve just released their very own London candle. What better present for someone who adores the city than a truly special candle that will fill up your cosy home with the most divine smell? If candles aren’t their thing, how about a fragrance from a London perfumer, Miller Harris. Located in Covent Garden, you can sample these incredible perfumes. I have the Scherzo fragrance myself and it lasts all day long!!

10. A LONDON TRAVEL BOOK

My dear friend and fellow photographer/blogger, Milly Kenny-Ryder, is a published author of the most fabulous travel books. Her latest publication is, of course, London. So if you’re after a guide to the best foodie hot spots and cute hidden gems of London, this book would be the ideal Christmas present!

I hope you enjoyed this mini guide and wish you all the luck with your Xmas shopping!!
