On a warm spring evening in March I found myself back in wonderful Paris. Brought to the City of Light by fellow photographer Georgianna Lane, I was commissioned to photograph the launch party of her newest book, Paris in Bloom. A trip to Paris, to be surrounded by flowers?…That was an opportunity I wasn’t going to miss!

Myself and Nathan headed over to Paris on a long weekend for the event, Nathan was styling the event and I was shooting. We had both met Georgianna through Instagram and instantly clicked over our love of blooms. Georgianna has been creating photobooks for a while now but this Paris in Bloom one was her biggest achievement so far, and if you get to see the stunning photos in a copy yourself you’ll understand why!

Arriving there the night before the event we did manage to get a little sightseeing of Paris in, I mean you can’t resist making a pitstop at the Tour Eiffel on a wonderful sunny weekend. It was blossom season so the city was dripping in bloom… I think spring is one of the best times to visit a European city, it adds that much colour to the streets, and I had never been to Paris in bloom, but it is a sight to behold! My favourite spots would have to be the cherry blossom trees by the Eiffel tower, the magnolias of Palais Royal and more cherry blossom at Petit Palais. If you do want to see the blossom, you have to be quick because within days the bloom soon blows away…

The launch evening was a dream. Held in the apartment we were staying in, right in the heart of centre just five mins from the Eiffel Tower, we spent the day shooting and decorating, stopping every 2 minutes gaze out of our balcony at the rooftops of Paris… how magical. Georgianna invited press and local Instagrammers to join for an evening of flowers and champagne. What a treat it was to meet so many people with the same creative passion, but living out their dreams in beautiful Paris! I loved asking all about life in the city and the best places to photograph (I mean everywhere in Paris is picturesque, but some hidden spots are extra special!) Sunlight spilt through the tall Parisian windows as the sun went down and we stopped to raise our glasses to the sparkling Eiffel Tower.

I wish I could go back to that evening where for a second I saw what it felt like to relax in my apartment in the heart of the city, sipping on wine like a true Parisienne…
