As spring has decided to poke its head out, I took the chance last weekend to get out of central London and spend an afternoon in a more relaxed part of the city, Richmond.
During my university years at Royal Holloway, we always passed Richmond on the train to Waterloo. Being the crazy students that we were, we didn’t visit that part of the London often as we couldn’t wait to get into the heart of city where all the clubs and parties were at… Ahhh I do miss uni years sometimes, the bliss of living 2 minutes walk from your best friends, staying up all night “studying” (not), having no responsibilities (or money haha!) and just having the wildest time ever. There are points in my life that I wish I could just revisit, just for one day, to remember how things were – wouldn’t that be amazing?
Anyway, back to pretty Richmond. I know in London we are spoilt for choice with what to do on the weekends sometimes, so if you are at a loss for where to spend a sunny Sunday morning, head to Richmond. You can rent a boat out, sit by the river with an ice-cream or even have a lavish lunch at Petersham Nurseries right by Richmond park, which is exactly what I did (more from that lunch coming to the blog very soon!)
What is your favourite thing to do when the sun is out in London? I need to discover some new rooftop bars, so would love to hear your ideas!
