If you’re looking for a fashion experience far different to what you would usually find in Dubai, then look no further than the cARTel. This amazing boutique, adjacent to successful fashion photography studio, Desert Fish Photography, gives you the chance to take your wardrobe to another level.
The store, set in a black and white retro warehouse on Al Serkhal Avenue, showcases an array of international fashion creators that really take design outside the box. From eco-friendly gladiators to superhero inspired clutches and hand-painted waistcoats, there is something different to give you the ultimate fashion wow-factor.
I discovered the cARTel when looking for boutiques to feature on the blog, and couldn’t wait to try on some of the pieces and get a few outfit snaps. Everything is so unique, and every designer has such varying inspirations, it was so interesting to hear all of their stories.
The lovely Kathleen showed me around the entire showroom, explaining each and every brand. She had such an in-depth knowledge of all the stock that you felt you were buying someone’s story, rather than just a regular piece of clothing. One of my favourites was designer Maimoona; by taking straight-forward cuts, such as tailored shirts, she completely challenges regular design, giving every one of her pieces a special element that makes it really stand out.
I put together three simple outfits from a sample of items I chose in the boutique, there are a few sneak peaks below, but the full pictures are to follow in the next post!
